Love taking photos? Want to learn how photographers create powerful images that tell stories? Whether you're an aspiring photographer or simply passionate about capturing moments, the Photography Elective is a creative, hands-on subject where you'll learn how to capture, edit and present photographs like a professional.
Throughout the course, you'll explore a range of photography styles and techniques while developing your own creative expression. Using DSLR cameras and digital editing software such as Adobe Photoshop, you'll learn how to create photographs that communicate ideas, emotions and stories.
Projects may include:
Portrait, landscape and street photography
Action and low-light photography
Composition, lighting and camera settings
Digital photo editing and image manipulation
Creative photo projects and visual storytelling
Along the way, you will:
Develop camera skills and learn how to use manual settings
Explore composition techniques, Art Elements and Art Principles
Edit and enhance your images using industry-standard software
Experiment with different photography styles and creative techniques
