If you answered yes to any of these, Media Elective will be for you! In Media, you will have the opportunity to explore and create content across a variety of media forms including Animation, Film, Podcasting, Graphic Novels, Print and Photography!
You will have the opportunity to create original content that can be streamed and exhibited to the TC Community and beyond. You will develop industry-level skills in professional media production in areas such as cinematography, radio, journalism and writing content for specific purposes.
You will study a range of examples of media to develop your knowledge and understanding of how media products are created and how they are manipulated with intent to create engaging experiences for audiences.
This subject would lead to VCE Media.
Semester 1 – Foundations of Cinematography & Print Media
Explore how media creators use codes to convey meaning in media-based products. Projects may include:
Short Film Productions
Advertising
Zines
Social Media Campaigns
Podcasting
Semester 2 – Film Production and Narratives
Explore how stories are constructed through media codes and conventions. Projects may include:
Music Video
Narratives in Film Productions
Graphic Novels
Animation
Documentary
Along the way, you'll:
Use technology and equipment to record, produce, and edit media products.
Learn about how media languages are used to tell stories.
Exploring historical and contemporary media creators’ work.
Document your ideas, research, and planning in a folio-based format.
Build confidence and skills using professional design software.

Please note: Students do not have to complete Semester 1 to undertake Semester 2. Students will need a device that supports the installation of Adobe Creative Cloud applications, such as Premiere Pro and Adobe Photoshop. These applications are provided free of charge.
