Fitness is run at Templestowe College in conjunction with Cornerstone Fitness.

As long as you are prepared to get changed and be active, this is an elective for:

  • Students with an interest in health, fitness and skill development in a sport.

  • Students who hate working out alone but want to keep fit.

  • Students who love being active and want to work out with others.

  • Students who want a subject to top up their program that will actually help them achieve better results in their other classes.

  • Students who seek direction, support and guidance for improving and maintaining their physical fitness.

In this elective, students learn how to plan a fitness program to develop their own cardiovascular fitness, general health and wellbeing. They may also include skills, drills and activities to increase their skill level and fitness for any sport of their choosing.

By exercising regularly, it is possible to:

  • Increase your endurance;

  • Have healthier muscles, joints and bones;

  • Increase your metabolic rate;

  • Have more energy;

  • Experience a sense of wellbeing and be better able to cope with stress; and

  • Improve your sleep patterns

Fitness provides an opportunity for students to be active and gain the healthy benefits that regular exercise brings.

Requirements:

  • Students must wear some form of workout gear to take part in this subject.

  • Students must keep a record of their program.

  • Students must put away equipment after use to ensure and safe and enjoyable environment.

  • Students must bring a drink bottle to class.
