Mechanical Engineering Elective

Ever wondered what makes an engine tick? This subject dives into the world of small engines and mechanical systems, giving you hands-on experience with the tools and problem-solving skills real engineers rely on every day! 

This subject provides a foundational understanding of key engineering principles through their practical application to small engines and mechanical projects. Students will explore core concepts rooted in mechanics, including forces, motion, and energy, and see their real-world impact through hands-on projects. 

A central focus is placed on small engines, examining the operation and characteristics of two-stroke and four-stroke engines, including their internal combustion process, power delivery, and typical applications. Students will work on projects that could include quad bikes, go-karts, pit bikes, mowers, and similar small-engine applications, along with other engineering projects as they arise. 

Through a blend of theoretical knowledge and hands-on practice, students will develop a comprehensive appreciation for how engineering principles underpin much of the modern world around them, while building real skills working in teams and solving practical problems.
