Entry Music Performance

Entry Music is a guided tour into the world of playing in a band. You will learn how to listen, play in time, recognise pitch, and work together in teams. This subject supports students of all levels of musical experience including beginners, students who have studied music in primary school and those taking instrumental lessons.   
 
Students in Entry Music Performance will work towards an end of term performance. As a performance subject, all students will be supported to participate and join in as best they can.

What will I do in Entry Music Performance?

In ENTRY Music Performance students will:  

  • be introduced to playing a range of instruments 

  • listen to different styles of music 

  • participate in workshops and learn musical vocabulary 

  • join in group jam sessions 

  • be part of a music community where everyone is welcome, and everyone can play   

Interested in taking an instrumental lesson?   

We warmly encourage all students to enrol in instrumental lessons. Small group lessons are highly subsidised and are offered during school hours. Lessons are available in the following instruments:  

  • Voice  

  • Piano 

  • Guitar/Bass guitar  

  • Drums  

  • Woodwind (Saxophone/Flute/Clarinet)  

  • Strings (Violin/Viola) 

  • Music Technology
