Entry Art

Discover, create and explore! Entry Art is a compulsory, one-term elective that introduces students to the exciting worlds of Art and Design. Students will experience both creative areas by completing a practical project in each, developing a range of artistic and design skills along the way. 

Students will experiment with a variety of materials, techniques and processes while learning how artists and designers communicate ideas. They will explore artworks from different cultures, time periods and perspectives and develop their critical and creative thinking skills. 

Students will develop their ability to generate ideas, experiment with materials, reflect on their work and present finished outcomes with confidence. 

Students will develop skills in: 

• Drawing, design and creative thinking 

• Exploring a range of materials and techniques 

• Responding to artworks from diverse cultures and artists 

• Developing ideas through experimentation and reflection 

• Presenting finished artworks and design solutions 

This subject provides a strong foundation for future studies in Art, Graphic Design, Fashion & Textiles, Media, Photography, Ceramics and other creative electives.
